Moscow Tightens the Noose Around the Paris Archdiocese of the Russian Diaspora

In just a few days, on November 6, 2026, an Assembly of the Archdiocese of Russian Orthodox Parishes will take place in Paris. This is the part of the Archdiocese that transferred from the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Constantinople to that of the Moscow Patriarchate in 2019. The Assembly was originally scheduled for the summer but, according to the official explanation, was postponed because of the heat.
